"Our Home"
Welcome to the home of Partipaws Pomeranians!
"This page is designed to give you a little virtual tour of our home and Kennel setup"

Partipaws Pomeranians is situated near the heart of Gosford in the Central Coast of NSW. Our Home sits on a gently slopping property of close to half an acre. We are very lucky to enjoy rainforest surrounding with plenty of native tropical palms and ferns and boast picturesque valley views. Our home and garden is heavily
influenced by Japanese culture, and although still a work in progress our garden is filled with cherry blossoms, japanese maples, bamboo, palms and a variety of other plants. We plan to build a japanese hut, a zen garden as well as a large Koi pond in the near future to finish off our beautiful garden escape!
Having just moved to this lovely property at the beginning of the year (2010) we are still working on building a proper, state of the art facility for our Pomeranians. Only just Established 3 years ago, we are still a small kennel and still at the early stages of our breeding program, but as our numbers start to increase we need to have our property set up to house more poms safely and happily!
Our "To do list" includes designing and building daytime kennels, day yards, converting the lower level of our house into a puppy nursery and sleeping quarters for our poms! So lots of work is being done here at the moment.
We have planned and designed everything so that we do not lose that loving family environment as I think this is most important for my poms as well as the development of young puppies!

The Daytime Dog Run!
_____________________________________________________
Although most often our poms have free reign of our beautiful japanese garden and access inside as they please, it is important for their safety and well being that they can be housed in a safe, clean environment while we are not home, so they don't injure themselves it get themselves into trouble.
This large run spans 8 meters wide by 7 meters, it is fully cemented so that the area can be easily cleaned and disinfected daily, but also has a section in one corner which is turfed and has 3 trees. There is access into our large laundry as well as an area under the adjoining deck for shelter. Our Pom rumpus room also opens out to this lovely big run so can also be opened up to them if the weather is really wet allowing them a lot more shelter to still run and play.
We have just built this run over the month of July 2011, so is at present up and running but we still need to paint the timber fencing, re-turf the garden bed and finish the screening around the side of the deck.

Kennels
_____________________________________________________
Although we are more into keeping our poms in a more free reign and happy, family environment, it is still important to have some sort of kennel set-up as there is always a need to separate poms, be it for females in season, isolating sick or injured poms, isolate foreign females who are visiting our studs for mating, young puppies to have some sunshine away from rough, tough adults etc.
Our kennels consist of metal rust free wire runs, with colourbond shelters at the rear and both runs and shelter is completely roofed off with UV treated plastic corrugated roofing. The floor is made up of sealed cement slabs which will be painted to seal off the pores in the slab so it can be kept clean. The floor is properly drained to keep dry as well as making it easy to clean away waste and disinfect on a daily basis.
Each unit (as pictured above) consists of one building split into two runs with shelters, divided by a central panel. The central panel has a door which allows the two runs to open up into one big run. Each run will safely house 1-3 poms or opened
up into 1 big run which could house up to 6 poms.
So far we have started work on the first unit as pictured above - It is 80% complete, there is still a lot to be finalised to have it up and running and fully functional.
As mentioned above these runs are only used when we need to separate girls from boys when they arein season, for wet weather, for quarantining sick or injured poms, housing outside bitches who are visiting our studs and will also offer a safe area to introduce puppies to the outdoors and giving them a safe enclosure to run and play outside in the sunshine away from the adults :)
